Selling a GoPro, DJI Osmo or Insta360: What Changes an Action Camera's Price

Selling a GoPro, DJI Osmo or Insta360: What Changes an Action Camera's Price

September 13, 2026

Action cameras are the second most looked-up category on our site after cameras. Between 4 and 13 September 2026, action camera model pages were viewed 159 times, and the DJI Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo page was the third most viewed model page of any kind.

They are also priced a little differently from cameras. There is no separate lens, the accessories that matter are different, and because they are built for rough use, the checks that matter are different too. This guide covers all three.

Which action cameras we list

We currently list 11 action camera models with their own price pages:

If your model is not in that list — an older GoPro, an earlier DJI Action, or an older Insta360, for example — there is no price page for it yet. Call or WhatsApp +91 95608 22859 and we will check whether we buy that model and quote you manually. We are not going to promise a price for a model we do not list.

Combo or standard: pick the right page

DJI sells several of these cameras in more than one box. A combo includes extra items in the box that a standard pack does not. Choose the page that matches what you originally bought. If some of the combo items have gone missing over the years, that is what the accessory questions are for.

What changes an action camera's price

The price form asks the same four things for every action camera:

  1. Condition grade — Flawless (100% new condition, zero scuffs and scratches), Good (90%, minor scuffs rarely visible), Average (75%, a few scratches and scuffs) or Below Average (55%, major scratches or dents).
  2. How long ago you bought it — 1–4 months, 4–12, 12–18, 18–24 or above 24 months.
  3. Accessories you still have — for action cameras these are the original box, charger, bill or invoice, battery, mounts and the shorty grip. None of them is required to sell.
  4. The current market value of the model, which is the figure at the top of each page: the maximum for that model in Flawless condition.

Unlike a camera, there is no lens line. The lens is part of the camera.

What to check before you sell

The lens glass or lens cover

This matters more on an action camera than almost anything else, because the lens is exposed. Look at it under a bright light at an angle. Scratches on a replaceable protective cover are a different matter from scratches on the lens itself, so if your camera has a removable cover, check underneath it too. On 360 cameras like the Insta360 X4 and X5, the two lenses stick out from the body and are easy to scuff; check both.

The battery

Charge it fully and record a few minutes of video. The battery should hold charge, and it should sit flat in its compartment. A battery that has swollen, or a camera that shuts down quickly on a full charge, is worth mentioning.

Screens

Test the touchscreen across its whole area, and the front screen if the camera has one. Look for dead zones, cracks and lines.

Doors, latches and seals

Open and close the battery and port doors. They should latch firmly. If you have used the camera underwater, check the seals are clean and not torn.

The gimbal (Osmo Pocket)

On the Osmo Pocket 3 and 4, power the camera on and watch the gimbal. It should move smoothly to its position without grinding, and the camera should not show a gimbal error. Always use the protective cover when carrying it.

Mounts and the shorty grip

Mounts and the shorty grip are listed accessories, so put together every one you still have. Broken mount fingers are common and easy to spot.

Before you hand it over

Back up your footage, take out the memory card, and remove the camera from the brand's app on your phone. Our guide on resetting a camera before you sell it covers the steps, including GoPro's reset-connections option.

In our pickup cities, such as Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, our agent checks the action camera and its accessories in front of you against what you described. If it matches, the price stands and you are paid on the spot by bank transfer, UPI or cash (above Rs 10,000 we prefer bank transfer). Outside those cities you can sell by courier.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the box to sell my GoPro or DJI Osmo?

No. The box, bill, charger, battery, mounts and shorty grip add to the price but none of them is required.

My action camera is not on your site. Will you buy it?

Call or WhatsApp +91 95608 22859. We will check whether we buy that model and quote you manually.

Do you buy action cameras that do not switch on?

The camera has to power on and work to be sold through the normal price form.

Can I sell an action camera together with a camera or drone?

Yes. The same pickup covers action cameras, cameras and drones under 250 g; each item is priced on its own.
