How selling a MacBook on Sell Your Gadget works
- Choose the model and variant. MacBook Air or Pro, year, chip, RAM and SSD size. Open the Apple menu > About This Mac to see them.
- Answer a few questions. Working or not, box / charger / bill, how old, overall condition, battery health, serial number, and confirm that Find My (Activation Lock) is turned off.
- See the estimated price after verifying your number. The price shown online is an estimate based on what you tell us. Our representative checks the MacBook at pickup and confirms the final price. You approve the final price before you hand over the MacBook and before we pay.
- Book a free pickup. Doorstep pickup is free, at the address, date and time slot you choose. We pick up across India; where our own team cannot reach, we tell you whether pickup or courier is possible.
- Checked in front of you, paid at pickup. The MacBook is checked in front of you at pickup. If something differs from what you described, the representative tells you the reason and the revised price. You are free to decline the final price and keep your MacBook, at no charge. You are paid at the pickup itself, after you approve the final inspected price and hand over the MacBook. Payment is by UPI, bank transfer or cash, whichever our representative offers at the time. Above Rs 10,000 we prefer bank transfer or UPI.
What to keep ready at pickup
- Our representative checks a government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving Licence or Voter ID) at every purchase. Box, bill and accessories are optional but add to the price.
- The MacBook itself, charged enough to switch on. The original charger, box and bill are optional but add to the price.
- Find My Mac turned off and your Apple Account signed out (see below). A MacBook with Activation Lock still on cannot be bought.
Before you hand over your MacBook: Activation Lock off and data wiped
- Back up. Time Machine or iCloud, whichever you use.
- Sign out of iCloud and turn off Find My. Apple menu > System Settings > your name > iCloud > Find My Mac > turn off, then System Settings > your name > Sign Out. This removes Activation Lock.
- Erase the Mac. Apple menu > System Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Erase All Content and Settings (Apple silicon Macs). It wipes your data, Touch ID and Apple Pay cards.
- Check the serial number. Apple menu > About This Mac. We ask for it at the quote step and note it at pickup.
What decides the price
Model and year, chip (M3 / M4 / M5, Pro or Max), RAM and SSD size, battery health (System Settings > Battery > Battery Health), overall condition (screen, body, keyboard, trackpad), and whether the charger, box and bill are included. Prices are set per variant and condition; a price is shown only once it is confirmed, never a placeholder number.
Common questions
Do you buy a MacBook with Activation Lock or Find My still on?
No. Find My must be turned off and the Apple Account signed out before pickup. The quote step asks you to confirm this.
Is the online price final?
The price shown online is an estimate based on what you tell us. Our representative checks the MacBook at pickup and confirms the final price. You approve the final price before you hand over the MacBook and before we pay.
Do I need the box, charger and bill?
They are optional. Tell us what you have at the quote step; the price shown already accounts for what is missing.
My MacBook is not working. Can I still sell it?
The online price applies to a MacBook that switches on and works. If your MacBook is not working, message us on WhatsApp before booking and we will tell you whether we can buy it.
My model is older than 2024 or not listed.
