Selling a Used Camera in Chennai and the Rest of South India

We do not have a store in Chennai; there we work through free doorstep pickup. Between February and August 2026 we bought 44 cameras from sellers in Chennai, and those purchases included 49 lenses. Sellers in other South Indian towns sold to us too, from places where we do not offer pickup.

This guide explains what Chennai sellers sold us this year, how pickup and the check work, how you are paid, and what to do if you live elsewhere in the South. It does not quote rupee figures, because prices move with the market. The live figure for your model is always on its page.

What Chennai sellers sold us in 2026

Chennai's list mixes entry cameras with full-frame bodies. From our own purchase records for February to August 2026, the bodies that came in most often from Chennai were:

• Canon EOS 200D Mark II (3)
• Nikon Z30 (2)
• Sony ZV-E10 (2)
• Sony Alpha A7 IV (2)
• Sony Alpha A6600 (2)
• Canon EOS R6 Mark II (2)

Two full-frame bodies, the A7 IV and the R6 Mark II, sit alongside entry cameras like the 200D Mark II and the Z30. One Chennai purchase this year was a Canon R6 sold together with seven lenses, an adapter and a Canon extender, and another was a PlayStation 5 with two controllers. A pickup is not limited to one camera: you can sell a whole kit in one visit.

How pickup works in Chennai

1. Get your price. Open your model's page and press the button to get the exact value. The figure at the top is the maximum for that body in Flawless condition. You then choose the condition grade (Flawless, Good, Average or Below Average), how long ago you bought it, and the accessories you still have. Each lens is added as its own line.
2. Book a free pickup. Choose a slot, and our agent comes to your home or office in Chennai.
3. The check, in front of you. The agent checks the front, the back with the screen on, the top plate, the base with the serial number, the sensor and mount with the lens removed, and the accessories, and records two short videos: the camera powering on and firing the shutter, and the information screen.
4. Payment on the spot. If the camera matches what you entered, you are paid then and there.

If something material is different from what you entered, the agent re-quotes with the reason and you are free to decline.

Selling a large kit

If you are selling a body with several lenses, as that Chennai R6 seller did, a little preparation saves a lot of time at the door:

• Price each lens on its own line. The body price never includes a lens, because a body and a lens lose value at different rates. See sell camera lens.

• For adapters, extenders or other items that are not on the price form, call or WhatsApp +91 95608 22859 and we will tell you whether we buy them.
• Lay everything out with its caps before the agent arrives.

Payment and ID

Payment is made on the spot after the check, by bank transfer, UPI or cash. Above Rs 10,000 we prefer bank transfer. A government ID proof is needed at pickup. Our guide on how payment works when you sell a used camera covers each option.

Charge the battery the day before. We do not buy dead cameras, but a working lens from a failed body can still be sold on its own.

Outside Chennai: Kerala, Karnataka and the rest of the South

Our purchase records this year include cameras from sellers in Kochi (5), Mysore (4) and Thiruvananthapuram (3), all marked as out-of-city purchases. If you live in a town like these, courier is the usual route:

• the condition is checked on a video call before you pack anything
• the courier charge is shared half-half
• 90% of the agreed price is paid in advance, and the remaining 10% after the parcel arrives and is matched with the video call
