The Sony A6400 is one of the mirrorless cameras we buy most often. Between February and August 2026 we bought 29 Sony Alpha A6400 bodies from sellers across India, and in Pune it was one of the bodies that came in most often. Our catalogue lists it as a 24.2 MP camera launched in 2019. Sony's own model code for it is ILCE-6400.
This guide does not give a rupee figure, because used camera prices move and a number in a blog post goes stale. It explains how the price of an A6400 is worked out, what to check on your camera before you sell, and how to see the live price.
Sony's A6000 series bodies look almost identical from the front. The A6000, A6100, A6400, A6600 and A6700 are all priced as different cameras, so this step is worth thirty seconds. The original box and the bill usually show Sony's model code, and for this camera the code is ILCE-6400.
A few quick signs: the A6400 has a screen that flips up to face the front, which the older A6000 does not. The A6600 and A6700 have a noticeably deeper grip than the A6400. Many A6400 owners use the camera for video and vlogging, often on a cage, a tripod plate or a gimbal. Those leave marks on the base plate and the sides. Check the flip screen hinge too. You pick the grade; our agent checks it at pickup.
The price form uses five brackets: 1–4 months, 4–12 months, 12–18 months, 18–24 months and above 24 months. The bill settles the date if you have it.
For the A6400 the accessories that add to the price are the original box, the charger, the bill or invoice, the bag and the battery. None of them is required to sell. Sony cameras are often charged over a USB cable in the camera, so if you have a separate battery charger, count it.
The price on the camera page is for the body only. Most A6400s come to us with one lens; a body and a lens lose value at different rates, so they are quoted as separate lines.
On our site, the lens most often named with an A6400 in price requests since June 2026 is the Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6, the small power-zoom kit lens. The agent checks the camera in front of you in the same order every time: front, back with the screen on, top plate, base with the serial number, sensor and mount with the lens removed, and the accessories. Two short videos are recorded, one of the camera powering on and firing the shutter and one of the information screen. If everything matches what you described, the price stands and you are paid on the spot. If something material is different, the agent re-quotes with the reason and you are free to decline.
