Selling a Canon 1300D, 3000D or Sony A5100? We Buy Them Neat and Working Only

Three cameras on our site carry an extra question before you get a price: the Canon EOS 1300D, the Canon EOS 3000D and the Sony Alpha A5100. For these three models we currently buy only cameras in neat and fully working condition, and the form asks you to confirm that first.

That rule catches people by surprise, especially on the 1300D, which is a very common camera. This guide explains what it means for you in practice, how to check your camera at home in ten minutes, and what your options are if it does not pass.

What the rule says, and what it does not

For all other cameras on our site, you pick one of four condition grades — Flawless, Good, Average or Below Average — and the price adjusts. For the 1300D, 3000D and A5100, the price form first asks: Is your camera in neat condition? If the answer is no, we may not be able to buy the camera.

Two things do not change:

• The rest of the price works the same way. Condition, how long ago you bought it, and your accessories still decide the figure.
• Your lens is still a separate item. If the body does not qualify, a working lens can still be sold on its own.

How many of these we actually buy

The rule is about condition, not about the models being unwanted. Our purchase records show 13 Canon EOS 1300D bodies bought from sellers across India between February and July 2026, and 5 Canon EOS 3000D bodies between February and August 2026. Between 4 and 13 September 2026, the 1300D page was one of the ten most viewed camera pages on our site.

Price requests show what these cameras are usually sold with. Of 42 requests since May 2026 that named a lens with a 1300D, 40 named the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, 15 named the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II and 5 named the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III. For the 3000D, all 18 requests that named a lens named the EF-S 18-55mm.

Check your camera at home: a ten-minute test

We do not publish a scorecard for "neat", and we are not going to invent one here. Our agent makes the final call at pickup. What you can do is run the same basic checks the agent runs, so you know before you book.

Does it work?

1. Charge the battery fully and switch the camera on. It should start without error messages.
2. Take ten photos in a row with the lens attached. The shutter should fire every time and the pictures should appear on the screen.
3. Try autofocus on something near and something far. It should lock on both.
4. Press every button and turn every dial. Each one should do something and none should stick.
5. Put in a memory card, take a photo, and play it back.
6. On the A5100, test the touchscreen by tapping to focus, and flip the screen up and back.

Does it look neat?

• Look at the body under a bright light. Cracks, dents, broken battery or card doors, and missing rubber are the kind of issues that are unlikely to count as neat. The agent makes the final call.
• Check the rear screen for cracks, dead patches or lines.
• Take the lens off and look at the mount. It should be clean, with no bent metal.
• On the 1300D and 3000D, look through the viewfinder. Some dust is normal; fogging or a broken focusing screen is not.

If the camera passes all of that and has only the light wear you would expect from normal use, answer "yes" to the question and continue to your price.

If your camera does not pass

You still have options:

Do you buy a Canon 1300D with scratches?

Light wear from normal use is expected on any used camera. Cracks, dents, broken doors or a damaged screen are unlikely to count as neat condition. The agent confirms at pickup.

My 3000D works but the screen is cracked. Can I sell it?

Call or WhatsApp +91 95608 22859 with a photo before you book, because a cracked screen is unlikely to count as neat condition. Either way, you can still sell the lens on its own.

Is the lens included in the price?

No. For all three cameras the price is for the body only, and each lens is quoted separately.

Can I bring the camera to a store to be checked?

Yes. We have walk-in stores in Delhi, Pune and Chandigarh, and free doorstep pickup in the other cities we cover. Outside those cities you can sell by courier; the condition check then happens on a video call before you pack.
