The Canon EOS 1500D is one of the most common first DSLRs in India, and it is one of the cameras people most often come to our site to price. Between 4 and 13 September 2026 its model page was the second most viewed camera page on our site. We bought 15 of them from sellers across India between February and August 2026.
This guide does not print a rupee figure, and that is deliberate. Used camera prices move, and a number in a blog post goes stale the week after it is written. Instead, here is exactly how the value of a 1500D is worked out, so that when you look at the live price you understand where your camera sits in it.
Canon's entry DSLRs look alike. The model name is printed on the front of the body, next to the lens mount. Check it before you price anything, because the 1500D, the older 1300D and the 3000D are priced as different cameras.
If you bought your camera outside India, the same model is sold as the EOS Rebel T7 in the United States and the EOS Kiss X90 in Japan. The Canon EOS 1500D page is the right one for all three names. Our catalogue lists it as a 24.1 MP crop-sensor camera launched in 2018.

This is the starting point, and it is the part you do not control. It moves with demand and with what new cameras cost. The figure at the top of the 1500D model page is the maximum we pay for a 1500D body in Flawless condition, and it is updated when our rates change.
You choose one of four grades on the price form, and our agent checks it at pickup:
Be honest here. A 1500D that has been used for a few years with a kit lens and a neck strap almost always shows wear on the grip, the base plate and around the strap lugs. Choosing a grade that matches what the agent will see means the price you are shown is the price you are paid.
The form asks for an age bracket: 1–4 months, 4–12 months, 12–18 months, 18–24 months, or above 24 months. The newer the purchase, the closer the price stays to the Flawless figure. If you have the bill, the date on it settles this in a second.
For a 1500D the accessories that add to the price are the original box, the charger, the bill or invoice, the bag and the battery. None of them is required to sell. Find what you have before you fill in the form, because each one is priced in.
This is the point that surprises most 1500D sellers. The price on the camera page is for the body only. A body and a lens lose value at different rates, so a kit is quoted as two lines.
Price requests on our site show what 1500D owners usually have. Of 36 requests since May 2026 that named a lens with this body, 31 named the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, 9 named the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II and 4 named the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III. You add each lens on the next step, or price it on its own at sell camera lens.
Canon is the hardest brand for reading shutter count yourself, because most Canon DSLRs do not write the count into the photo file. You do not need it to sell. Our agent records the camera's information screen at pickup, and there is no fixed cut-off: the count is one input to the condition grade, not a gate. Yes. The bill adds to the price but is not required. Without a valid invoice the camera is treated as out of warranty.
