Second-Hand DSLR Price in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai: How the Quote Is Built and What to Check

Second-Hand DSLR Price in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai: How the Quote Is Built and What to Check

September 18, 2026

Mumbai is one of the three cities we get the most pickup bookings from. In the bookings made on this site from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and the towns around them since 2022, more than sixteen hundred of them, Canon and Nikon together make up about seven in ten, and roughly two thirds of all bookings are DSLR bodies rather than mirrorless. This guide explains how the second-hand DSLR price is worked out for a seller anywhere in the Mumbai region, why the kit lens matters, and what to check before the agent arrives at your door.

It does not quote rupee figures. Prices move with the market, and the live figure for your exact model is always on its own page.

The DSLRs Mumbai sellers bring us most

From our own booking records for the Mumbai region, the DSLR models booked most often that have their own price page are:

One honest note: the single most-booked model in Mumbai bookings is the Canon EOS 700D, and it does not have a page yet, nor do the Nikon D3200, D5200 and D750. For those, send one photo and we identify and quote the camera by hand. Our guide to the Canon 200D to 90D family explains where the 700D sits and how to tell it from the 750D; for the Nikons, read how to tell the D3300, D3400, D3500, D5300 and D5600 apart.

Mumbai also leans mirrorless more than our other cities do once you look at what we actually bought: among the cameras we purchased from Mumbai sellers between February and August 2026, the bodies that came in most often were the Sony A6100, Sony A7 III, Canon R50 and Nikon Z50. And Mumbai sends us more GoPro bookings than any other city we serve. The same rules below apply to all of them; the price page for a mirrorless body or an action camera works the same way.

How the body price is worked out

Open your model's page and press the button to see the value. The figure at the top of the page is the maximum for that body in Flawless condition. Your own figure then depends on three things:

  1. Condition grade. Flawless, Good, Average or Below Average. Choose honestly: the agent checks the camera against what you entered, and a body that was entered as Flawless but has a scratched screen is re-quoted at the door.
  2. How long ago you bought it. The purchase bracket you pick on the page.
  3. Accessories you still have. Box, charger, battery, bill and bag each add to the figure. None of them is required to sell.

The price page gives the body-only figure. That is the single most common misunderstanding from Mumbai sellers, so it gets its own section below. The full logic, with a worked example and no numbers, is in what decides a used camera's price.

Why the lens matters in Mumbai

Three in four Mumbai bookings on this site included at least one lens. The lens named most often in those bookings is the Nikon 18-55 mm VR kit lens, then the Canon 18-55 mm and 55-250 mm pair, then the Canon EF-S 18-55 mm on its own, and, further down, the Canon 18-135 mm, the Sony 16-50 mm power zoom and the Canon EF-M 15-45 mm. Among the cameras we bought from Mumbai sellers in 2026 there were more lenses than bodies.

Each lens is quoted as its own line, added to the same quote, because a body and a lens lose value at different rates. To get the lens line right:

  • Read the full name printed on the lens barrel, including the letters. An AF-P 18-55 mm VR and an AF-S 18-55 mm VR II are different lines; an EF-S 18-55 mm IS II and IS STM are different lines.
  • Look through each lens against a light. Fungus, haze and scratches change the grade, and Mumbai's monsoon storage is where fungus starts, so check before you price rather than at the door. Our guide on checking a camera lens before selling shows what to look for.
  • A lens can be sold on its own, with or without the body, at sell camera lens.

What to check before the agent arrives

The check at your door in Mumbai is the same one our stores do: the front, the back with the screen on, the top plate, the base with the serial number, the sensor and mount with the lens removed, and the accessories. Two short videos are recorded, the camera powering on and firing the shutter, and the information screen.

So before the slot:

  • Charge the battery. We do not buy dead cameras. If the body has failed, its working lens can still be sold on its own.
  • Back up and format the card. The card is not required.
  • Sign out and reset. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pairing cleared, following back up, reset and unpair your camera.
  • Keep a government ID ready. It is needed at every pickup.

If the camera matches what you entered, the price stands. If something material is different, you are re-quoted with the reason and you are free to decline.

Pickup slots and payment in the Mumbai region

Just over half of Mumbai bookings chose the 11 AM to 2:30 PM slot; afternoon and evening slots are also on the booking form, and three in four Mumbai bookings were made for the next day. Pickup is free across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, and our bookings have come from Kalyan, Dombivli, Vasai, Virar and Mira Road as well; the full list from our records, with the pin-code split, is on the sell used camera in Mumbai page and in free pickup in Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Panvel, Vasai and Virar.

You are paid on the spot after the check. In our Mumbai bookings more sellers chose a UPI app (Google Pay leading) than cash; cash was about four in ten, and a few chose bank transfer. Above Rs 10,000 we prefer bank transfer. Our guide on how payment works when you sell a used camera explains each option.

There is no store in Mumbai, and that does not change the price

Mumbai is a doorstep pickup city: there is no walk-in shop, and nothing to carry across the city or over the creek. Our nearest store is in Pune. The same check and the same price apply at your door as at our stores in Delhi, Pune and Chandigarh. The rest of the local picture, what Mumbai sellers sold us in 2026 and what to keep ready, is in selling a used camera in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai or Thane, and the five things that surprise sellers most are in 5 things to know before selling a camera in Mumbai.

No. The price comes from the model page and is the same across India. Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane get the same figure, the same free pickup and the same check as every other city.

My Canon 700D is not listed. Can I still sell it?

Yes. The 700D is the most-booked model in our Mumbai records even without a page. Send one photo through the instant quote and we identify and quote it by hand.

My camera came with two lenses. Is that one price?

No. The body is one line and each lens is its own line, all added up in the same quote. Enter the exact lens names from the barrels.

How soon can the pickup happen in Navi Mumbai?
