"Sell PS5" and "sell PS5 slim" are the most common console searches that reach our site, and they usually come with the same follow-up questions: does the Digital Edition fetch less, do the controllers count, and what happens at pickup? This guide answers them for the three consoles we currently buy, using the same inputs our price form uses.

The three consoles we buy

Each has its own page with a live maximum for Flawless condition:

Digital or Disc: how to tell, and why it matters

The two PS5 Slim editions look almost identical from the front. The Disc Edition has a slot for the Ultra HD Blu-ray drive on the lower front panel, with the eject button next to it; the Digital Edition has a smooth panel with no slot. The model number on the base label also differs. The two have separate pages on our site because the market values them differently, so pick the right one before you read the figure.

The PS4 Slim is the smaller, rounded PS4 with a disc slot on the front and a 1 TB drive on the version we list.

What the console form asks

The price is built from four inputs, the same as for a camera but with console-specific accessory lines:

1. The model's current market value, shown at the top of its page.
2. The condition grade: Flawless (100% new condition, zero scuffs and scratches), Good (90% condition, minor scuffs rarely visible), Average (75% condition, a few scratches and scuffs) or Below Average (55% condition, major scratches or dents).
3. The age bracket: below 6 months, 7 to 11 months, or above 12 months. The youngest bracket carries no age deduction. The bill settles the bracket; without a valid invoice the console is treated as out of warranty. The brackets for every category are listed in our guide on age brackets and resale value.
4. The accessories you still have. The console form has five lines: the original box, the charger or power cable, the bill, the original controller, and an extra controller. Each one adds to the figure; none is required to sell. The two controller lines are the ones that make the biggest difference on a console, so if you have a second DualSense or DualShock, enter it.

What we check at pickup

The agent checks the console in front of you and records a short power-on video, the same way we do for a camera. The body is checked against the grade you chose, the console is powered on, the controllers you entered are checked with it, and the accessories are laid out and matched to what you entered on the form. Keep the console connected to a TV or monitor if you can, so the power-on check is quick.

If everything matches, you are paid on the spot by bank transfer, UPI or cash; above Rs 10,000 we prefer bank transfer. If something material is different, the agent re-quotes with the reason, and you can decline. Our guide on how payment works covers pickup, store and courier.

Sign out before the agent arrives

A console carries your PlayStation Network account, saved games and payment details. Before pickup, back up saves to the cloud or a USB drive, deactivate the console as your primary PS5 or PS4 in account settings, sign out of every account and run the full factory reset from the settings menu. Our reset checklist covers consoles as well as cameras. A console that arrives still signed in is a problem for you, not just for us.

Frequently asked questions

Do you pay less for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition than the Disc Edition?

The two editions have separate pages because the market values them differently. Open both pages to see today's figure for each; the condition, age and accessory inputs then apply the same way.

Do controllers add to the price?

Yes. The console form has separate lines for the original controller and an extra controller, and each adds to the figure. Neither is required to sell.
